Susan has been an artist her entire life. She has a degree in painting
from the University of Illinois Chicago and loves working with different
media. About 8 or 9 years ago, she began working with polymer clay
and hasn't looked back since. Although she makes a lot of polymer
clay jewelry, her great love is making mixed media pieces that
include polymer clay mosaics and collages or paintings. She has
also made polymer clay eggs, journals, bowls, vases, and picture
frames. In addition to polymer clay, she works with seed beads,
Chinese, Czech, and Swarovski crystals, and semi-precious beads,
most often stringing necklaces or making memory wire bracelets.
Susan is very active in the Chicago Area Polymer Clay Guild and has
served as both vice president and secretary. She also is a member of
the Bead Society of Greater Chicago. She has taught basic polymer
clay technique classes at both Michaels and a local bead shop in
Chicago. In her "other" life, she works in medical publishing.
