Karen Thompson
Karen has been a creative person all her life. She started sewing in high school and went on to knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and cross stitch. She has always given handmade crafts as gifts, and many times made items to sell. Her dream was to own a shop someday, and this dream has come true. After losing her job in technology, an opportunity came up to buy a business where people came together to learn to make their own jewelry. She had already been hooked on jewelry making for many years, and, in 2005, was able to further her passion as owner of "A Beadtiful Thing", a full service bead store in Aurora, Illinois. Unable to shake her old interest in technology, she designs her website each month to communicate with her customers what is new and exciting at the store. Karen understands the needs of artists, and is committed to the next step – to provide a quality website for selling hers and others finished jewelry, crafts, and art online.

Anne's career has been focused on technology and she has risen through the ranks to senior management positions over the years. Her passion for this industry has been a creative outlet, but recently she has once again become more involved in actively developing the technology. She now develops and maintains Art-i-zan.com as well as Karen's shop website. However, she's not just a "geek". Her lifelong ambition is to become a preservation architect when she grows up. She has always enjoyed photography, going all the way back to the dark room age, and is responsible for the photos displayed on Art-i-zan.com. She has also taken many art courses and functioned as an art editor, and dabbled in pottery, watercolors, pen and ink and oils. So she too understands the needs of artists and what is required to display, market, and sell their goods.
